Sonder

Sonder

I found myself in a sea of infinite mysteries,
just a single green leaf falling from an autumn tree,
as one star amongst billions in an entire galaxy,
and a mere dot to a greater, infinite being.

Within a blink I now open my sonder eyes and see-
the power and meaning within everything.

Stay Alive

Stay Alive

When you feel let down
tripping over your own feet
and falling hard to the ground
remember you do have balance
if only your purpose is found.

When you feel sorrow
when you feel alone
when you feel empty
when you feel numb
when you feel like dying…

remember your scars are as
beautiful as the Earth,
remember your pain is real
because you are alive and feel,
remember that someone out there
loves you more than the fish love the sea,
or the birds love the sky,
or the grass loves the breeze.

When you are ready to die,
when you feel without a purpose
and crave the finality of suicide,
remember everything in this world
is matter,
therefore, you are beautiful,
you are loved, and YOU matter.

The Strongest Material

The Strongest Material

I’ve met the heart of gold
whose emptiness
glistens ancient and old.

I’ve met the heart of brass
the one who just
bends words from the past.

I’ve met the paper heart
who bleeds with blotched
ink that tears one apart.

I’ve met the heart of glass
that many hold
but drop- it breaks too fast.

I’ve met hearts that undergo many beatings
but I have also met hearts that stay beating.

Their Tragedy

Their Tragedy

Every time he spoke I would never respond with the right words,
I tried to explain all the pain but he never really heard.

So I pinned him against the wall
to show him how much my feelings burn
when I reach the point of no return.

And I ripped off all of our clothes
to show him how naked and bare
my empty insides spark and flare.

Then I crushed my lips against his
to show him how hard it is to keep control
without all the proper parts to keep one whole.

Then I brought him to the mattress
where we can clash until we agree,
to show him how close I want to be.

Those Who Love

Those Who Love

Sometimes we love
others more
to compensate
for our lack of love
in ourselves.

Sometimes the most
compassionate souls
are those most in need
of a stable heart
to keep them whole.

I can stand in a room
that surrounds me
with Vincent Van Gough,
the surreal works of Dali,
the famous “Painter’s Honeymoon”,
and the only piece I enjoy
studying is you.
